Melissa Baker
Teaches: VocalsAt just 5 years old, Melissa took great pleasure in singing into her karaoke machine and freestyling lyrics based on her activities that day, there’s even still a recorded cassette lurking about somewhere!
She began to take singing seriously when she was 10, after being commended for her performance in music by her teacher who later encouraged her to join the school and chamber choir. Melissa then went onto participate in many competitions and showcases across England and furthered her skills in Performing Arts by studying at Cambridge Regional College where she continued to flourish, taking lead for most musical theatre performances.
During her studies, an assisting job at a local stage school opened up the opportunity for her to perform in a function band for the first time.
It was from there that she became well connected, and has since performed Internationally on Ships and at some amazing venues such as The Royal Albert Hall and The Gleneagles, alongside incredibly talented function bands for various events and leading Choirs such as The ACM Choir.
She also performed with Stardust – a musical touring show, visiting some of UK’s grandest theatres.
Melissa is looking forward to sharing her experience and knowledge of vocal and performance techniques to not only enhance students skills but to build their confidence and aid their personal journeys in singing.
