Rob Allen
Teaches: PianoRob is now retired having taught for 42 years mainly in the London Borough of Barnet. For the last 27 years of his career, he was headteacher in three different schools.
Rob trained as a music teacher and in his roles throughout his career has always encouraged ensembles, choirs, and music in assemblies and concerts. He always accompanied these choirs and countless instrumental performances, including playing for students taking graded performance exams.
Rob has sung in choirs and groups since the age of seven and he currently sings in the St Mary’s Standon Benefice Choir. He also has an advanced knowledge of music theory. He has performed in countless music concerts & events with many different ensembles.
Rob has written or arranged much music for ensembles, choirs, singing groups, plays, and incidental music.
Rob started playing the piano at age 6 and has never stopped. To Rob learning the piano is the gateway to the world of music. Playing piano should be a pleasure and a means of expression, relaxation, and performance and so often piano is the basis for the learning of other musical instruments. It is a privilege and pleasure to enable students to learn the piano.
