At the age of 27, Will has almost 2 decades of experience on the drums. Originally he started out in brass bands and orchestral ensembles, gaining his skills reading music and performing with competition bands in Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Will began working in pit bands in theatres around the midlands for shows such as West Side Story, Legally Blonde and Grease. Alongside this, he also worked with pop punk/metal bands where he learnt his skills to write and produce original music.
Shortly before graduating with a degree in professional musicianship at BIMM Manchester, Will spent time on several original projects where he honed his craft, touring and working with artists such as Tim Gallagher and Megan Dixon-Hood.
In 2021, Will made the move down to London where he continued his work and began playing for SOFY, who he works with currently. He has recently played on stages such as The Festival Republic stage (Leeds and Reading festival), the O2 Academy Leicester, Truck Festival Main Stage as well as the BBC Introducing stage at Glastonbury in 2022.
Will offers tuition at HCM alongside his live projects. He’s helped students to find and develop their own ‘voice’ with drumming, whilst offering them the support and encouragement needed to problem solve on the drums. Will is able to tailor his teaching to any student, having also coached with technical skills they might require in preparation for graded exam pieces.
