We, at HCM, closed our doors in late March following the nationwide lockdown and undertook a new form of teaching via Zoom.
Our amazing tutors very quickly adapted to teaching remotely via Zoom, a video conferencing app, to be able to continue teaching and supporting students throughout the lockdown. This was a very difficult time for everybody in the country and we are so proud of how well the HCM tutors transitioned into this new teaching style.
With the gradual lifting of the lockdown guidelines, we made the decision to open our doors once again for the Autumn term at the Academy.
Although we have now re-opened, HCM is not the same as we once were. We have put lots of time into ensuring the safety of our students and staff, now that we are able to welcome you back.
We have installed contact free hand sanitiser stations throughout the building, safety screens where necessary and 2 metre social distancing markers. Group lesson sizes have been reduced to 4 students per class and all one to one lessons are taught at a safe distance. Efforts have also been made to reduce the amount of traffic in the corridors between lessons. Our reception and waiting area have been temporarily closed in order to better promote social distancing and to reduce congregating. These measures are under constant review as the Corona Virus situation changes.
Whilst we are so excited to be seeing all of our lovely students once again, we understand that not everyone is ready to return to in-person lessons just yet. For this reason, we are continuing to offer remote lessons, either for the entirety of the term, or for whenever needed.
